Exogenous Ketones Over Coffee?

Individuals with a lower tolerance and and higher sensitivity to caffeine may experience jitters, increased heart rate, or anxiety with high caffeine intake. If you are particularly sensitive to caffeine or experience negative side effects, exogenous ketones without added caffeine, like our favorite brand HVMN’s Ketone-IQ may be a better option.

Some things to consider include: desired effects, potential side effects, and underlying health conditions. Here’s a breakdown of exogenous ketones vs coffee to help you make that decision.

Exogenous Ketones

Exogenous ketones are designed to be consumed orally, either in the form of powders, liquids, or capsules. At Invictus, we use Ketone-IQ exogenous ketones which come in liquid form and can be consumed as a shot or mixed into a ketone mocktail.

When ingested, they can increase the levels of ketone bodies in the blood, even if the body is not in a state of nutritional ketosis. This means that exogenous ketones can potentially provide the body with an alternative source of energy in the form of ketones, regardless of whether a person is following a ketogenic diet.

Coffee

The energy boost from coffee is mainly attributed to the stimulant effects of caffeine. Caffeine stimulates the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and adrenaline, which can result in increased mental focus, improved mood, and enhanced physical performance.
